This video clip demonstrates just some of the applications where 3d printing is being employed by dental labs and maxillo-facial labs to aid surgery planning. Objet has recently launched a new medically approved material known as MED610, a clear and rigid bio-compatible material suitable for prolonged contact with the skin. This material is particularly suited to the dental industry for producing dental alignment guides. Dental guides printed in MED610 aide the orthodontist when drilling in to bone tissue, ensuring that implants are positioned correctly and securely. Another material recently launched by Objet is Objet VeroDENT. Specially developed for use within the dental materket, VeroDENT provides a skin tone colour and superior surface finish to enable orthodontists to print scanned impressions for uses such as stone models, try-in partials and Veneer try-ins. Objet 3D printers are also used in the production of clear aligner and retainer products. For more information call Tri-Tech 3D on 01782 814551 or visit www.tri-tech.net .
