I just love playing with my Live Steam Ruby! I was very disappointed when I found out that the Ruby could not couple to my LGB train cars. When I asked the dealer and Accucraft for the parts necessary to couple to LGB cars they said that it did not exist… and that I would have to make something! So, soon after I assembled my Ruby, I measured the exact location of the LGB coupler and fired up my Solidworks 3D Cad software. I designed a simple part that would allow my Ruby to pull my LGB train cars! I used a rapid prototyping machine called an FDM – Stratasys machine to quickly fabricate the part! I know many people out there would like to pull their LGB train cars with their Accucraft Live Steam locomotive without having to do any of this extra work… so I created www.RubyLGB.com You can buy one of these little LGB coupler adapters there. The production version of this part will not be made using the rapid prototype process. It will be machined or injection molded out of black plastic.
